With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John D Mackey (Meridian, Mississippi), who passed away on March 3, 2026 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mackey and Agnes Mackey. He is survived by: his wife Joane Mackey; his children, Jay Mackey (Teresa), Dawn Hull (Ryan) and Joy Sharp (Jason); his grandchildren, Courtney Rosewall (Josh), Matthew Mackey (Emily), Jordyn Toenges (Lars), Brooks Hull (Lily), Madelyn Sharp, Luke Sharp and Rhett Sharp; his great grandchildren, Alana Rosewall, Mackenzie Rosewall and Tate Daniel Toenges; his granddaughter Mary Elouise Mackey; his siblings, Richard Mackey and Libby Wilson; and his grandsons, Josh Rosewall and Lars Toenges. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 4th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Robert Barham Family Funeral Home (6300 MS-39, Meridian, MS 39305). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 5th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel (6300 MS-39, Meridian, MS 39305). A burial was held on Thursday, March 5th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM at the Meridian Memorial Park.
The Mackey Family suggest, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made as donations to St. Jude Chidlren’s Hospital or to East Mississippi Animal Rescue.
