She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Vernon Chester and Betty Jo Chester; and her parents-in-law, Hermon Eugene Luke and Mabel Culberson Luke. She is survived by: her husband Robert "Bob" Eugene Luke of Meridian, MS; her children, Joshua Eugene Luke (Annie) of Charleston, SC, Caleb Wade Luke (Betsy) of Starkville, MS and Elizabeth Ann Luke of Wilmington, NC; her daughter-in-law Theresa Butler Luke; her grandchildren, Cooper Eugene Luke, William Winstead Luke (Bella), Maria Elizabeth Luke, Wade Hogan Luke and George Porter Luke; her siblings, Charles Gregory Chester (Carri), Lori Ann Golden (Kendall) and Alan Wade Chester (Paula); and her brother-in-law Frank William Luke. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, now renamed Blood Cancer United.
