With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Penny Purnell of Meridian, Mississippi, who passed away on October 14, 2023 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Danniel (Squirrel) and Verdie Danniel. She is survived by: her husband James Purnell (Jimmy); her children, Laurie Barker (Greg) and Leslie Rush III (Tammy); and her grandchildren, Meagan Barker Smith (Josh), Meredith Barker, Madison Barker, Leslie Rush IV (Emily), Neely Rush Brantley (Karl) and Drew Rush. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
