Richard Kent Lewis Sr. Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Kent Lewis Sr. (Meridian, Mississippi), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 22, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clovis Lewis and Polly Lewis; and his siblings, Kay Anne Lewis, Chuck Lewis, Joyce Lewis and Carol Banes.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Lewis; his children, Micki Harrison, Kent Lewis, Jr. and Cody Lewis (Haley); his grandchildren, Brittney Harkins (Brandon), Sydney Harrison, Liam Lewis and Emma Lewis; his great grandchild Bethany Harkins; and his siblings, Nancy Willis, Paula Harris (Kendall), Maggie Jantz (Jerry), Mike Lewis, Mark Lewis, Victor Gray-Lewis (Gerry) and Patrick Lewis (Yvette).
Visitation was held on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Robert Barham Family Funeral Home (6300 MS-39, Meridian, MS 39305). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 3:30 PM to 3:45 PM at the Coker's Chapel Cemetery (3042 Jeff Davis School Rd, Meridian, MS 39301). In 2020, Richard had the opportunity to go to Saipan (via FEMA) to work…and was there when THE pandemic was declared.
The Lewis Family suggests memorials be made as donations to the Samaritans Purse or to UMCOR in lieu of flowers.
