He was predeceased by: his parents, H. M. "Shorty" Bowers and Jean Bowers. He is survived by: his wife Lynn Bowers; his sons, Chris Bowers (Jennifer) and Steven Bowers (Kim); his grandchildren, Simon Bowers, Grace Bowers, Lucy Bowers, Garret Bowers and Logan Bowers; and his siblings, Milton Bowers (Faye) and Debbie Cran. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church (4032 Poplar Springs Dr, Meridian, MS 39305). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 3:15 PM to 3:45 PM at the Magnolia Cemetery (2638 23rd Ave, Meridian, MS 39305).
The family ask the memorial donations to be made to Habitat for Humanity in Meridian or Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church, in honor of Mr. Sidney.
