She was predeceased by: her husband Joe D. Boswell; her parents, Sidney Avera and Sadie Avera; and her siblings, Bobby Avera (Tommie) and Ethel Dean Catlett (Joe).
She is survived by: her children, Aubrey Chatham, Rhonda Posey (Ricky), Paul Chatham (Cheryl), Eddie Boswell (Daphne) and David Boswell (Stacey); and her grandchildren, Stephanie Chatham (Ricky), Bobby Simpson, Kimberly Simpson, Jennifer Simpson, Corey Chatham (Nathalie), Nikki Mabry, Miranda Ricks (Tyler), Magen Chatham (Mark), Amy Pewitt (Kevin), Celeste Boswell and Chloe Boswell. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Sylvia requested memorial donations be made to The Gideon International Bible Ministry.
