He is survived by: his wife Gloria A. McAlpine; his sister Frances G. Jones (Preston); his mother-in-law Rebecca E. Leach; and his aunts, Nannie Mae Edison, Virginia Lyons, Ruby Davis and Ida Jean Turner. He is also survived by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
