She was predeceased by: her husband Johnny Edward Grimes Sr.; her parents, Thomas Shirley King and Maggie Hemphill King; and her siblings, Martha Francine McNeese, Mary Mullins and Thomas King.
She is survived by: her children, John Edward Grimes Jr. (Georgia), James Darrell Grimes (Pat), Judy King, Paul Shannon Grimes (Terra), Heather Francine Lee (Robert) and Matthew Toby Grimes; and her sister Etheline Sutton (Homer). She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as three great-great-grandchildren.
