He was predeceased by: his parents, Selma Faye Shumpert Estes and Mannie Evans Estes; and his daughter Sandra Gail Estes. He is survived by: his children, John Thomas "Tommy" Estes, Jr. of Oxford, Teresa Estes Steele of Eggville and David Alan Estes Sr. (Melissa) of Tremont; his grandsons, Alan Estes (Tiffany), Justin Estes (Laura), Steven Estes (Alyssa) and Daniel Steele (Samantha); and the mother of his children JoAnn Estes. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Boguefala Baptist Church (690 MS-371, Mooreville, MS 38857).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
