With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gerald Brooks Sr. of Moss Point, Mississippi, born in Bemis, Tennessee, who passed away on August 18, 2022 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond C. Brooks and Jewell P. Brooks; his wife Jackie Brooks; his brother Raymond E. Brooks (Yvonne Brooks); and his niece Shirly J. Jones.
He is survived by: his children, Gerald J. Brooks Jr. (Kimberly R. Brooks), Melisa P. Hamilton (Ivan Hamilton), Ramona L. Brooks and Jeffery E. Brooks (Deborah Brooks); his goddaughter Brandi Harper Miller (Henry L. Miller Jr.); his nephew William "Billy" Brooks; his grandchildren, Mandi Lynn Newton (Twainn Newton), Ashley Nicole Miller (Ryan Miller) of Jamey, Hamilton, Emma Stringfellow (Shane R. Stringfellow Jr.), Joseph Judson Brooks (Brittanie), Charles Lane Brooks (Catherine), Mikayla Joan Brooks, Kathryn Rose Brooks, Lauren Butts and Karsyn Butts; his great grandchildren, Dalton Brooks, Cross Newton and Lucas Gene Gerald Miller; and his grandchildren, Brylie Wilkes, Alleigh Marie Stringfellow, Beau Newton, Shane "Tripp" Stringfellow III, Kennedy Layne Brooks, Brooksie Elizabeth Miller and Hudson Grey.
