It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Katie Powell of Moss Point, Mississippi, who passed away on February 5, 2026, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Brown and Katie Brown; her siblings, Sherman Brown and Aberdeen Brown; her son Daryl Turner; and her husband Wayne Powell.
She is survived by: her daughters, Vera Mason and Vonda Morrison (Robin); her grandchildren, Channing Mason (Gina), Katelyn Hathorn, Cody Mason (Kaleigh), Blake Phillips (Mason), Kaleb Mason, Robby Morrison and Lindsay Reitz (Allen); her great grandchildren, Natalee Mason, Gavin Mason, Harleigh Pike (Cody), Alia McNaughton, Bryar Hathorn, Kaynaan Hathorn, Sypar Hathorn, Carson Mason, Kolson Mason, Karleigh Morrison, Blakely Morrison, Paisley Morrison, Dakota Reitz and Dallas Reitz; her great great grandchildren, Clay Pike, Cole Pike and Caden Pike; and her sister Lee Thomas (David).
