He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Leonard and Carmie Sullivan Leonard. He is survived by: his children, Chris Leonard (Leigh Ann) of Hattiesburg and Elizabeth Leonard Powell (late John Powell) of Brandon; his sister Betty Leonard Brewer of Mount Olive; his niece Jane P. Kelly (Cliff) of Mount Olive; and his grandchildren, Reece Hayes Powell of Brandon, Caroline Elizabeth Powell of Brandon, John Murphy Powell of Brandon and Andrew Christopher Leonard of Hattiesburg. He is also survived by other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 29th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM at the Mount Olive Methodist Church (211 N Main St, Mt Olive, MS 39119). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 29th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 from 3:15 PM to 3:30 PM at the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
