He was predeceased by: his parents, William Joseph Maier Sr. and Julie Marie Lanoux Maier; his son Frederick William Maier Jr. (Traci); and his siblings, William Joseph "Willie Junior" Maier Jr., Anna Mae Maier Freeman, John Christian "Buddy" Maier, Patrick Paul "Pat" Maier and Margaret Julie Maier Farmer.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ruth Passbach Maier; his grandchild Camille Rose Maier of Choudrant, LA.; his son Tobias Ludvic "Toby" Maier; his grandchildren, William Tobias Maier and Sidney Surget Maier; his brother Walter Joseph Maier; Sarah Surget Eidt Maier of Natchez. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
