She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Sherman Slater, Sr. and Edna Reed (Nealy); and her siblings, Ernest Jr., Amos, Osborne, James, Lamar (Tom), Frank, Prince, Bo, Willie Mae Webb, Ida Cooper, Jessie Mae Nix and Thelma Nix (Bee).
She is survived by: her sister Barbara Foley; her sister-in-law Alease Nix; and her children, Robert Slater, Linda Slater (Henry), Sandra Craft, Mark Gibson (Lorraine), Tammy Hamilton-Everett (Charles) and Debra Slater Lathan. She is also survived by 13 grandsons, 4 granddaughters, 5 great granddaughters and 9 great grandson, other relatives and friends.
