He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilhena Best Simonton and Hayward Eugene Simonton, Sr.; his parents-in-law, E. E. Price and Rosa Lee Price; his uncle Franklin D. Simonton; his brother-in-law Willy Thornton of Natchez; his nephew Wade Thornton of Natchez; his in-laws, Lewis, Patsy Johnson of Sicily Island, Louisiana, Josephine Smith of Pond, Mississippi, Mary Ellen Smith of Kansas, Francis Best of Arkansas and James David Starr of Arkansas; and his sister-in-law Pegg Starr of Arkansas.
He is survived by: his wife Lynda Price Simonton; and his children, Melissa Kym Simonton of Bay St, Hayward "Matt" Eugene Simonton, III (Jennifer) of Monroe and Russell Price Simonton of Hattiesburg. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Natchez Humane Society.
