He was predeceased by: his parents, Reggie P. Carter, Sr. and Nettie Laird Carter; his siblings, Reggie P. Carter, Jr. and Shirley Brown; his daughter Tawana Brewer; and his son-in-law David Fontenot.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Carter; his daughters, Tammy Fontenot, Hope Cole (Kirk Mooney) and Cassie Fugiett (Brooks Fugiett); his grandchildren, Peyton Garnand (Taylor Garnand), Haylie Burnett (John Porter), Maggie Mason, Carter Fugiett and Paisley Fugiett; his great grandchildren, Eleanor Burnett and Stormie Garnand; and his brother David Carter (Marleane Carter). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
