He is survived by: his wife Peggy Sandel; his children, Walt Sandel, Jr., Mimi Murphy and Keith Sandel; and his grandchildren, Lisa O'Day, Palmer Sandel, Michael Murphy, Halie Murphy, Adelaide Sandel and Cincinnati Sandel. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
