It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eddie Lou Ray (New Albany, Mississippi), who passed away on May 12, 2025, at the age of 104, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Hawkins Parks and Eddie Volerah Patton Parks; her husband Vardell Ray; her daughter Ann; and her siblings, Nettie Mae Mayfield, Bama Ree Ward, Thea Mildred Watts (Doyle Woodson Bailey), Lucious Erastus Parks, James Victor Parks, Matthew Franklin Parks and Webster Norwood Parks.
She is survived by: her granddaughter LeAnn Glover Sommerkamp of Charlotte, NC; and her great grandchildren, Elizabeth Ray Sommerkamp of New York, NY, Anna Davis Sommerkamp of Birmingham, AL and Kenneth Paul Sommerkamp III of Charlotte, NC.. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
