With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Ricky McCollum (New Albany, Mississippi), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Ricky left this world on July 18, 2025 at the age of 68, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Elaine McCollum and Lera Christine Rakestraw McCollum; his spouse Beverly Kay Saylors of Boonville, MS.; and his grandparents, David Troy McCollum, Zoma Irene Wise McCollum, Leslie Holder Rakestraw and Nancy "Nannie" Lavelle Pickens Rakestraw.
He is survived by: his sons, Joshua Tyler McCollum of New Albany, Jackson Tanner McCollum (Cheyenne) of Thaxton and Jordan Tate McCollum of Thaxton; his grandsons, Riggin and Rowdy McCollum; and his siblings, Diane McCollum Browning (Dean), Robert Steve McCollum (Sandra) and Randy Allen McCollum (Lisa) of Clarksville, TN.. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the United Funeral Service, Inc. (700 MS-15, New Albany, MS 38652). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to Liberty Baptist Church in Union County, or to a charity of your choice.
