He is survived by: his mother Vivian Armstrong Rhodes; his wife Malinda Pickens Abbott; his children, William Ray Abbott of Collinwood, Tennessee, Amy Abbott (Tim Harris) of Myrtle and Sonya Abbott of Ecru; his sisters, Lisa Chism (Tracy) of New Albany and Jan Abbott of Indiana; and his pet Pepper. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care (608 W Bankhead St, New Albany, MS 38652). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
