She was predeceased by: her parents, Bessie Winstead Ponder and John Lewis Ponder II; her son Thomas Dent Brand Jr. (Tommy); her husband Thomas Dent Brand; and her siblings, John Lewis Ponder III and Mary Ann Covington.

She is survived by: her daughter Teresa McClain; her grandson Nathan Daniel Jacobs of Newton; and her children, Eleanor C. Ray of Charleston, MS, Carolyn C. Loftin of Ridgeland, MS, Kay Brand Farmer (Newton), John Ponder (Susan), Mike Ponder of Lewisville, TX, Sam Ponder (Candy), Walter James Brand Sr. (Anna) of Flowood, MS and Jack Williams Brand Jr. (Sallie) of Magnolia Springs, AL.. She is also survived by great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews, and her faithful cousin.
