We are sad to announce that on July 18, 2025, at the age of 90, Simmie D Godwin of Newton, Mississippi passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Donald Rogers Godwin; her son Roger Godwin; her parents, Emmett Ross Robinson and Velma Alice Davis Robinson; and her sister Dora Lee Jay.
She is survived by: her son Rocky Dewayne Godwin of Newton, MS; her grandchildren, Felicity Broderick (Joe), Rocky Joe Godwin (Amanda), Taylor Scharer (Caleb) and Landrey Morris (Casey); her great grandchildren, Joy Broderick, Jett Broderick, Elliot Godwin, Liam Scharer, Simmie Ann Godwin, Hunter Scharer and Caysen Morris; and her brother Bobby Earl Robinson (Susie). She is also survived by other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Liberty Baptist Church (1968 Liberty Church Rd, Newton, MS 39345). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery (1968 Liberty Church Rd, Newton, MS 39345).
