He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert E. Vail and Lynn Brewster Vail. He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Vail; his children, Robert E. Vail, Alan B. Vail and Miriam L. Clark (Zachary Clark); his granddaughters, Penelope R. Clark and Willow M. Clark; and his brother Eddie Vail (Judy Vail).
