It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernest Cox of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, who passed away on April 15, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Ernest Cox to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Harold Cox and Elise Ryan Cox; his in-laws, James and Mildred Borries; his siblings, Harold, Jimmy, Robert Sr. and Shirley Cox Seymour; and his siblings-in-law, Janet and Augie Derouen.

He is survived by : his wife Anna Belle; his children, Mark (Sharon), Randall (Shelly), Nedia Wise (Greg) and Byron; his grandchildren, Megan Calton (Charlie), Jamie Strayham (Ivan), Aaron (Kelsey), Amanda Hayball (Justin), Greg Wise (Lauren), Jessica Cox, Ryan (Courtney) and Harrison Wise (Whitney); his great grandchildren, Maci, Caston, Suzanna, Charla, Annaston, Greyson, Cody, Easton, Rhett, Shepard, Forrest, Jade, Ryker and Cohen; his sister Rose Smith (JB); and his sister-in-law Peggy Cox. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Ocean Springs (502 Jackson Ave, Ocean Springs, MS 39564). A Mass was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Crestlawn Memorial Park Cemetery (4111 Bienville Blvd, Ocean Springs, MS 39564).

The family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association or Make-A-Wish Mississippi in lieu of flowers.
