He is survived by: his wife Gwynne Walker Smith; his stepmother Jean Smith; his children, James R. Smith, III, Leslie Shellman (Jim) of Oxford, MS., Heather Hanvy (Mark Weyers) of St. Louis, MO. and Kyle Dunavant (Carrie) of Long Beach, MS.; his grandchildren, Jay Smith, Hannah Smith, Hogan Shellman, Zach Hanvy, Sam Hanvy, Landon Dunavant and Greyson Dunavant; and his cousins, Bobby Smith, Mike Garrett and Tina Littlejohn. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
