It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janice Elaine Carter (Ocean Springs, Mississippi), who passed away on June 28, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James William McKay and Nannie Kinard Spence McKay; her brothers, Donald McKay (Laverne), Daniel McKay (Fonda), James McKay (Alice) and Paul McKay (Johnnie Ruth); her daughter Jeanne Elaine Carter Luckey; and her grandson Donald Paul Carter.
She is survived by: her children, Raymond D Carter, Janice Stevens (Gregory) and Michael Carter (Gwendolyn); her son-in-law Alwyn H Luckey; her grandchildren, Crystal Gazafy (Jason), Taylor Brennan (Luke), Jackson Stevens and William Carter; her great grandchildren, Chase Gazafy, Sean Gazafy, Cornelius Brennan and Toxie Ray Brennan; and her brother Robert McKay (Joyce). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, the Order of Eastern Star, or to your favorite charity.
