It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Laurel Caroline Elder of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, born in Valley Stream, New York, who passed away on May 16, 2024, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Mayer and Mildred Mayer; her former husband John D. Elder; her husband William Witham; and her sisters, Mildred Tierney and Ethel Turner.
She is survived by: her daughter Bonnie Alexis Elder Furey (Dennis); her grandchildren, Amy Caroline Furey Jones (Joshua), Dennis Croft-Elder Furey (Ashleigh Turner Furey) and Christine Alexis Furey Walck (Anson); and her great grandchildren, Jake, Reagan Jones, Teddy, Laurel Anne and Jack Walck.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude or Unity Christian Organization.
