She was predeceased by: her parents, Mamie Milhollen Bearden and Henry W. Bearden; and her husband James F. Mathews, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Marilyn Williams of Pine Bluff, Lisa Diane Mathews Gray (Roger) of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Allen Mathews of Redfield and James F. Mathews, Jr. (Teresa) of Vancleave, Mississippi; and her grandchildren, Christy Roberts (Eric), Tracey Okray (Mike), Sue Ellen Milam, Jessica McCullough (Shane), Trevor Gray (Emily) and Amanda King (Samuel). She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Biloxi National Cemetery (Memorial Dr, Biloxi, MS 39531).
