She was predeceased by: her parents, W. A. Smith and Geraldine Smith; her husband David Harris, Jr.; and her son Steven Dale Harris. She is survived by: her sons, David Harris III (Bunny) and Jay "Kembo" Kemball Harris; her grandchildren, Isaac Steven "Zeke" Harris (Morgan), Jesse David Harris, Carson Elizabeth Harris and Haley Kathryn Harris; her great grandchild Emersyn Laine Harris; and her siblings, Lou Jean Webb (Terry), Jeanette Wells (Tommy) and Angie Hooker (Mark).
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Melba's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
