She was predeceased by: her husband Willie "Joe" Childers. She is survived by: her son William "Larry" Newby; her grandchildren, Bryant "Keith" Newby, Jodi Van Wagner and Candice Guthery; and her great grandchildren, Taylor Jordan, Bryant Newby, Kyra Newby, Cynthia Ballard and Alisa Glass.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Immanuel Baptist Church (7423 Craft Rd, Olive Branch, MS 38654). A celebration of life was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at the Forrest Hill Memorial Park South (2545 E Holmes Rd, Memphis, TN 38118).
Flowers are welcome, or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Immanuel Baptist Church.
