He is survived by : his wife Wanda Jackson Dawson; his son Steven Dawson; and his grandchildren, Zachary Dawson and Zoe Dawson.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks to make a donation in Mr. Dawson's name to either the VFW or American Heart Association.
