We bid farewell to Roy Preston Shands of Olive Branch, Mississippi, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 1, 2025 at the age of 82. Roy touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Arthur and Eula Alma Shands; and his siblings, Ruth, Wallace, Myrtle, David, Ira, Dewey and Louis.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Kay Haire Shands; his sons, Joseph Shands (Elizabeth) of Greer and Jeffery Shands (Sarah) of Olive Branch, Mississippi; his grandchildren, Preston, Emily, Cates, Callie and William; and his siblings, Era Yevonne Dowell, Riley Shands (Barbara) and James Shands (Nancy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Desoto Hills Baptist Church (4680 Getwell Rd, Southaven, MS 38672). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the same location.
