He is survived by: his wife Rose Mary Thompson Solar; his children, James R. "Jamie" Solar (Trish) and Jonnie S. Whiteaker (JR); his grandchildren, Rosemary G. Mancuso and Andrew J. Beggs; and his siblings, C. J. (Ginny), Richard "Dickie" Solar, Lois Clements, Melinda Comeaux and Debbie Lobell (Harry).
