He was predeceased by: his former wife Sue Thompson; and his parents, Fred Thompson and Emma Ingram Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Margie Thompson of Ovett; his children, David Henry Thompson (Stacey) of Ellisville, Ricky Thompson (Vanessa) of Richton, Troy Thompson (Ginger) of Richton, Joel Thompson of Richton, Tricia Lynn Rowell of Richton, Brenda Griffin of Moselle and Leah Beth Bassett (Robert) of Dixie Community; and his siblings, Odis Thompson (Geraldine) of Richton and Mary Lee Dupree of Houma, LA.. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 22nd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Tiger Creek Missionary Baptist Church (694 Fr 202, Ovett, MS 39464). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
