Anthony left this world on June 9, 2025 at the age of 67, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. In the sacred silence of farewell, Anthony is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Anthony's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his father Vernon Edward Hilliard, Sr.; his brothers, Vernon Edward "Squeaky" Hilliard, Jr. and James Stephon Hilliard; and his sister-in-law Lavern Hilliard. He is survived by: his son Anthony Earl "AJ" Hilliard, Jr. of Oxford, Mississippi; his mother Laura Ann Hilliard Cancer; his stepfather James Cancer of Oxford; his daughters, LaTonya Vaughn, Dansheryl Hilliard of Oxford and Tina Austin (Johnnie) of Southaven, Mississippi; and his brother Hugh Hilliard of Abbeville. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church (102 Dylan Ave, Oxford, MS 38655). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
