She was predeceased by: her parents, Maudie Vanlandingham Dye and Thomas E. Dye. She is survived by: her husband Charles R Heard Sr.; her son Charles R. Heard Jr. (Janice) of Oxford, Mississippi; her grandsons, Russ Heard (Tricia) of Oxford, Mississippi and Andy Heard; and her siblings, J. D. Dye, Vivian Barnett, Lea Lunceford, Evellette Chandler and Morris Dye. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In place of traditional flowers, the family has asked that donations be given to the following organizations: Kingdom Cemetery Fund, mail checks or money orders to New Prospect Baptist Church at 823 Hwy 334, Oxford, MS 38655, and additionally, Love Worth Finding Ministries, mail checks or money orders to 2941 Kate Bond Rd, Memphis, Tennessee 38133.
