He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Douglas and Helen Cosper Simmons; and his sister Francis Anne Robertson. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Jane Williams; his children, Cynthia Simmons Cook (Charles) and Clyde Douglas Simmons III (Lisa); his grandchildren, Charles Oliver Cook III and Jane Baldwin Cook; his sister-in-law Mary Jo Williams; his nephews, Leo Fontaine Williams III (Janet) and Peter Jenson Williams (Suzi); and his niece Katherine Kuykendall Magness (Troy).
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Avon Methodist Church (4123 MS-1, Hollandale, MS 38748). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Avon Methodist Church, or any charity of the donor's choice.
