With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donna Ruth Smith in Oxford, Mississippi, who passed away on September 8, 2025 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Donna may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmett Newton and Jimmie Lou James; and her husband Johnny Rayford Smith. She is survived by: her children, Cynthia Nicole "Cindy" Smith of Oxford, MS and John Randle Smith of Oxford, MS; and her siblings, Joan Foster of Oxford, MS and Harold W. James of Oxford, MS. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
