He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Cook and Marie Cook; his sister Barbara McGregor; and his brother-in-law Mike McGregor. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Cook; his daughter Traci Harwell (Ronnie); his sister Gloria Bishop (Larry); his grandson Daniel Harwell (Erin); his great grandchild Kenzie Harwell of Oxford, MS; his nephews, Bill McGregor (Dawn) and Brent Bishop (Haley); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, John Michael McGregor, Banks Bishop and Bella Bishop.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, when schools had closed, the cafeterias remained open to offer to-go lunches for children in need.
