It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of George William Morton Sr. of Oxford, Mississippi, who passed away on November 30, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Harvey and Ione Seymour Morton; his wife Rosa Lee Morton; and his sisters, Joyce Hamilton Garrett and Joan Parker.
He is survived by: his children, Courtney Hall of Oxford and George "Will" Morton, Jr. (Tami) of Murfreesboro, TN; his grandsons, Mack Hall, Jake Hall of Oxford, Nicholas Morton of Austin, TX and Bennett Morton of Los Angeles, CA; and his siblings, Carolyn Brady of Kennisaw, GA, Jimmy Morton of Marietta, GA and Hal Morton of Pascagoula, MS. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church (403 University Ave, Oxford, MS 38655). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
