With sadness, we share the passing of Hershel Clayton Harmon of Oxford, Mississippi. Hershel, born on August 3, 1941, passed away on October 1, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Hershel for his warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. While he will be deeply missed, the influence he had on the lives around him remains. Loved ones will reflect on the time spent together. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clayton Harmon and Opal Mize Harmon. He is survived by: his wife Gloria Upchurch Harmon of Paris, MS; his son Jim Harmon of Paris; and his grandsons, Curtis Harmon of Byhalia, MS, Dallis Harmon (Emily) of Quincy, IL and Jason Aldridge (Lou) of Woodstock, GA. He is also survived by five great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford (601 Commerce Pkwy, Oxford, MS 38655). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at the Paris Memorial Cemetery (41 Co Rd 428, Paris, MS 38949).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations or memorials to be made in honor of Hershel be, made to the Paris Cemetery Fund (24 CR 479, Paris, MS, 38949).
