He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Lee Egerson and Mildred Egerson; his grandmother Vermacy Brown; his siblings, Wesley Egerson, Nina Brown, Mildred Townsend, Cora Johnson and Martha Ivy; his brother-in-law Barry Corbitt; his stepdaughter Christella Lynne Austin; and his grandsons, Brian Egerson and Charles Austin.
He is survived by: his wife Joann; his sons, David Jean Luster of Indianapolis, IN, Luther Jean Egerson, Jr. of Racine, WI and Joseph Leon Egerson of Racine, WI; his sisters, Cenora McGee of Oxford, MS, Thelma Willingham (Jimmie) of Taylor, MS, Relva Hariston (C. W.) of Taylor, MS, Vermacy Corbitt of Taylor, MS and Alma Corbitt (Lynn) of Jackson, MS; and his sister-in-law Earlene Egerson of Racine, WI. He is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
