She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy "Pete" Duncan and Eura Faye "Jip" Waits Duncan; her husband Lemuel Lee "Red" Smith; her son Rusty Smith; and her siblings, Patricia Duncan, Robert, Kenneth and Charles Duncan.

She is survived by: her children, Judy Smith Mills (Jimmy) of Abbeville, MS and Don Smith (Penny) of Oxford, MS; and her grandchildren, Joy Rowsey, Jake Mills, Thad Smith, Caroline Smith, Ryan Smith and Elizabeth-Anne Sims. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
