We are sad to announce that, on January 29, 2026, at the age of 82, Judith Frye (Pascagoula, Mississippi), born in Alexandria, Louisiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Fred Griffin and Elva Marler Griffin. She is survived by: her husband Charles Ray Frye Sr.; her children, Dena Lane Smith (Michael Eric Smith) and Dr. Charles Ray Frye Jr. (Kelly Avery Frye); her grandchildren, Abbey Lane Smith, Annabelle Joy Vickers (Dakota), Jeb Michael Smith (Isabel), William Charles Frye (Sarah Beth), Caroline Avery Frye, Elizabeth Marie Frye and Griffin Thomas Frye; and her great grandchildren, Evelyn Joy Vickers, Thomas McLane Vickers and Theodore James Frye.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Gideons International.

Judy and I taught 9th grade English together at Gautier Junior High School many years ago but for only a brief time, after which we unfortunately lost touch. I enjoyed our time together, though, and smiled when I'd hear her singing in her classroom in the mornings before the students arrived. Once, when I interrupted her class to add my input to a lesson she was teaching, she was gracious and appreciative. She was one of a kind!”
