It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roy Allen Holmes (Pascagoula, Mississippi), born in West Point, Mississippi, who passed away on May 28, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Ann Thomas Holmes; and his parents, Wade Wise and Hattie Marble Cogsell Holmes. He is survived by: his sons, Russell Allen Holmes (Malinda) and Gregory Thomas Holmes; his grandchildren, Megan McAlpin (Graham), Katie Sowers (Thomas), Kelton Holmes, Haven Holmes, Richard Holmes, Olivia Holmes, William Holmes, Thomas Holmes and Ellie Holmes; his great grandchildren, Mary Juniper, Gideon Sowers, Connor, Abigail and Brooks McAlpin; and his daughter-in-law Lisa Kossik (Andrew).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (3702 Quinn Dr, Pascagoula, MS 39581). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Pascagoula Office of Catholic Social Services.
