He was predeceased by: his wife Maggie Marquez-Wooten; and his nephew Jonathan Koberna. He is survived by: his children, Shannon Wooten-Cole (Haynes) and Austin Marquez-Wooten (Elizabeth); and his siblings, Leslie Koberna, Kimberly Rosenberg (Harry) and Todd Wooten (Maureen).

Visitation was held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Chapel (140 E Beach Blvd, Pass Christian, MS 39571). A Mass was held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Woodside Wildlife Rescue in Pass Christian, honoring Eric's lifelong commitment to wildlife and conservation.
