He was predeceased by: his parents, J. C. Tagert and Ruby Westbrook Tagert; and his siblings, Katherine Jones (Walter), Betty Talbert (William) of Florence and Steve Tagert of Jackson.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Kay Tagert; his sons, Mike Tagert (Mary Love) of Starkville, Wes Tagert (Michelle) of Pearl and Mark Tagert of Brandon; his grandchildren, Francie, Harlan, Wilkes, Henry, Anna, Mattie and Macie Tagert; his great grandchild J. R. Hamilton of Dallas, Texas.; and his siblings, Shirley Cook Long of Florence and Robert Tagert of Richland. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Disabled American Veterans organization—two causes close to Jesse's heart.
