She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Brett and Etta Galloway Brett; her siblings, Mildred Bailey, Wilma Bickis, Thelma Anderson, John Haywood Brett and Albert Hoss Brett (Joe Matthews); and her daughter Brenda Byrd.
She is survived by: her son Michael Matthews (Rocio Matthews) of Pearl, Mississippi; her grandson Daniel Byrd; and her great grandchild Loralei Byrd.
