We are sad to announce that on August 9, 2025, at the age of 88, Shelton Moore (Pearl, Mississippi) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Shelton may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Moore and Velma Moore; his wife Joanne Lorraine Moore; his former wife Gerie Ainsworth Moore; and his brothers, Marlin Moore, Carmon Moore and Burbon Moore.
He is survived by: his children, Shellee Britt (Johnny), Stacy Moore (Laurie), Rita Youghn, Troy Newsom (Gina) and Sam Newsom (Katherine). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
