He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Everett Strong and Lona Story Strong; his wives, Ernestine "Teenie" Strong and Sue Strong; his daughter Charlotte Taylor; and his siblings, Jesse Strong, Luther Strong, Joe Tom Strong, Gladys O'Hara and Mary Little.
He is survived by: his children, Montez Strong Carby (Chris), Walt Strong, Jr. (Sarah), Angela Foster (Daniel) and Carl Hannah (Karen); his sister Marjorie Strong Moody; his grandchildren, Shannon Redwine, Shaun Redwine, Britanie Sammartino, Ryan Hannah (Allison), Cecily Carby (Ben), Paige Fleming (Derek), Dallas Bright (Austin), Taylor Fredrick (Dylan) and Jackson Strong; and his great grandchildren, Jonathan Redwine, Braelynn Redwine, Ryan Lamb and Shanely Fredrick. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
